Our Trip to California

We just got back from California and we had a blast. It was awful coming back to this snow after being in the warm sunshine. It was also hard leaving my dad. I don't realize how much I miss my family until I've spent a few days with them.
It was so fun just getting to be on vacation with Dom and Nic and it gave Nic a chance to get to know my family a little better. They just adore Nic and had nothing but great things to say about him.
We flew in on Wednesday and rented a car in Santa Barbara it was about a 2 hour drive to my dad's house and we tried to stop at some beaches along the way but they wanted $8 just to drive threw the place so we pulled off the side of the road and took some pics from the street. :)
We stopped in at my dad's new office when we arrived and said hi for a minute then headed to his house to see my step mom Tina. Dom was so happy to see Grandma and Grandpa he just lit up! It couldn't be because they spoil him rotten or anything.  They decided to celebrate his bday a month early and I swear you would have thought it was Christmas with all the presents they got him. He got a baseball and bat (which he is awesome with) Spongebob stuff galore and a remote control car. Amongst other things. Needless to say this kid was ecstatic.  He had a blast with everything and Nic even played baseball with him. Dom is so coordinated for his age. I cannot wait to get him into sports. Nic and I talked about putting him into Tee ball this year and having Nic coach the team :)
Thursday we decided to take Dom to the beach for the day. So we drove to Pismo and walked the pier and then took Dom to play in the sand and in the ocean. At first he was scared to death of the water but once we put him in, he loved it.  Nic even found Dom a sand crab to look at however, he didn't know quite what to think of that.
After playing at the beach for a bit we went and grabbed lunch and headed back to town.  Nic offered to cook the fam prime rib so we went and picked up all the stuff for that and then headed back to Dad's. Dinner was fantastic. Nic is an amazing chef especially when it comes to grilling and meat.  My sis and her friend came to visit as well and it was good to see her.
Friday was the big wine tasting day. My parents won a day of wine tasting in a 50's limo so we found a sitter for Dom and headed off to wine taste for the day. We had sooo much fun. The car was awesome and the Wine tasting was even better. The wineries are beautiful. I wish we could get married on a Vineyard but unfortunately they don't have those in Utah :(  We had lunch at  a Winery called Cass and it was delicious. The weather was beautiful and it was fun being able to enjoy the warm weather and sunshine.  Our favorite winery is called Sculptera they have all these amazing sculptures throughout the Vineyard and their wine is delicious!
After that we stopped at a winery called Clautierre! They have fun wigs and hats and so we played dress up there which was totally fun. Our last stop was a new winery called Pear Valley and their wine was really good and reasonably priced. The Building was beautiful. After Pear Valley we called it a day and headed to a restaurant called AJ Spurs where we stuffed our faces. After dinner we headed home and just relaxed for the night.
Saturday Tina and I decided to go looking for wedding dresses and so Dad took Dom and Nic to go look at the Elephant seals. Dress shopping was a success and I finally found the dress. Nic's mom and I have been shopping for a week and had found a few I could not make up my mind. Well I fell in love with this dress in Cali and it's beautiful.  I had to carry it on the plane which was tons of fun let me tell ya :) Dom, Nic and dad had fun in Cayucos and then we all met for some lunch. Then Grandma and Grandpa took Dom to show him off and Nic and I headed home for a nap!
Saturday night we just cooked dinner and hung out as a family. We didn't want to do anything too crazy since we had to travel the next day.  I was so sad to leave. We had such a good time and I love my family so much. Dom was a little terror that day so it made the trip a little more difficult and the snow in Utah delayed our flight so that was fun as well.
All in all California was amazing and we made lots of great memories this trip I can't wait for many more to come over the years.  Dom had such a blast and was way sad to leave.  But at some point we had to get back to reality. Now it's time to keep on planning the wedding. Hope everyone is doing well!

Our Engagement Party

It's been forever since I have posted anything so I figured I better post some pics and write about what we've been doing. Life has been hectic from wedding planning to birthday parties to our engagement bash. I swear there is never a dull moment in our lives.
We have a tentative wedding date set for August 1st, we are still working out the details and deciding on things with the economy and everything else going on we need to simplify where we can. But it should be a beautiful day none the less and in the end I get to be with my man and that is all that matters to me.
We had an engagement party this last weekend and it was a lot of fun. We got all our friends together and had dinner and drinks at a place called Habits. It was fun to celebrate with our nearest and dearest friends. I also took advantage and brought  an address book to get everybody's addresses. Nic's mom has an extra book lying around and gave it to us. It has weimaraner dogs in it and it is the cutest thing ever.
I had a tank top made that said Future Mrs Arnold on it. I know I am the biggest cheeser ever but I'm so excited to be Nic's wife and I wanted the world to know :) Saturday morning we went up to Park City and spent some time with Nic's family and Lady. It was good to see everyone, I haven't seen his mom in 3 weeks and it was fun to sit and chat with her. I think we may have even made some head way on the wedding. I swear wedding planning is so stressful but I know in the end it will be worth it.
Dominik is doing pretty good. We have had some issues with hitting at school lately but we are working thru it. We started implementing the "naughty chair" so hopefully that will help. Jenn swears by this method and she has four amazing kids so we thought we should try it out. We are still working on the potty training we have until July to get him fully potty trained so he can move up a class. So we are stepping up the efforts :)
We go to California to see my dad in 2 weeks and I cannot wait. I miss my family so much. All in all things are great.  I hope everyone is doing well and I will get better at posting things.
