We just got back from California and we had a blast. We left on Friday and Nic got to experience his first flight with a two year old. Nic did great but Mom was a little stressed out! :) The airlines have changed a bit since i last flew so i was shocked to see that they now charge for extra bags and also charge for skycap. So it was a little stressful at the beginning but Dom was great on the flight and him and I rocked out to my Ipod.
When we landed we went to my dad's and then left from there to go Wine Tasting with my sister Lindsey and her boyfriend Ray. Our first stop was Tobin James Winery and that is where we bought the most wine. The guy who was serving us our wine was quite the chatter box, we weren't sure if he was getting paid to talk or to pour our wine. Regardless we got some great wine and then headed to the Cass Winery. This was my least favorite of the Wineries but we bought one great bottle of dessert wine and also got some great pictures in their Special Wine Tasting room. Our last stop was called Sculptera Winery and they had some amazing bronze statues. The guy who poured was the son of the owner and took great care of us and even let us go look at where they stored their wine. He told us each barrel sits for a year or more before they distribute it. Wine tasting was a huge success and after that we headed back to my dad's and waited for them to get home from taking Dom to a car show. Once my dad got home we visited for a bit and then Nic and I headed to bed to get some rest for the big Birthday/Graduation bash.
The next day Nic and I cooked breakfast for the Fam and then we all helped get everything ready for the party. Nic and I volunteered to be the Bartenders for the night and we had a great time. At first i was really nervous because i had no idea what i was doing but by the end of the night Nic and I had a pretty good system going. Bartending was also a great way for Nic to meet everyone. Nic and I decided that we deserved tips so we got out a tip jar and ended up making almost $50.00. We were pretty stoked. Nic was a hit and all i heard all night was how cute he was and how nice and "wow what a nice body" :) I expected nothing different since i love and adore the guy.
Dominik was quite the hit also, it must be all the nights of watchin So You think You Can Dance because Dominik was busting out moves i had never seen on the dance floor. It was the cutest thing ever. He was doing flips and spinning all over the place it was great. Everybody loved it. Sunday came and Nic and I had to decide how we were going to smuggle 11 bottles of wine home. Nic had the brilliant idea to borrow and extra suitcase so we ended up wrapping all the bottles in some clothes and got all the wine home safe and sound. We were pretty darn thrilled with ourselves. Our trip to California was awesome and it was nice to introduce Nic to my family and to show him where i came from. Stay tuned because we are Water Rafting in Moab next weekend. Nic leaves Monday night and I will meet up with him on Thursday.

Weekend of 8/10

This weekend was lots of fun! Saturday Nic, Dom and I all went hiking with Nic's friend Kim. It was up Little Cottonwood and it was beautiful. Of course Nic had Dom in tow on the backpack and Dominik loved every second of it. By the end of the hike Dom had passed out and it was so cute. We were all wore out and so we went home and took a nap!

Later that night Nic and I went to dinner to celebrate my friend Cheyenne's birthday. We ate at a restaurant called Stella which was pretty good but then had to head home because Dom's hand was swollen from a bug bite and Dom's Grandma was concerned. SO we went home and of course the Dominator was fine but we decided to just stay in for the night.
Sunday was when the real fun began. I have been putting off Dominik's 2 year pictures for quite some time now. But realized that he is amost 2 1/2 and it's time to suck it up and get the photo's taken. You see i hate getting his picture taken, to me it is the most stressful thing you can do to a child and to a parent. First I worry about his outfit and if his hair looks right. Then i wonder if he going to be in a good mood. I decided that Nic should join in the fun and escort me to photo day! :) Of course i picked Kiddie Kandids in the mall (Nic hates the mall) And of course they don't have an opening right when we got there. Not to mention Dom's nap time is at 12 and we got to the mall at 1230. The soonest they could get us in is 1:30 but we decide to chance it and take the appointment. Is everybody getting the point? We are about to have a very cranky Domi on our hands.

So while we are waiting Nic and I take Dom all around the mall to keep him occupied. He does really well and in fact he does well even during the pictures. However, for those of you that have had toddlers it's not easy to tell a toddler what to do, not to mention trying to get them to sit still long enough to take a picture. All in all he does pretty good with a few minor melt downs along the way. Then comes time to pick out the pictures...Poor Nic did not realize this was going to be a 2 hour event. But he continues to be patient and help the entire time. He even helped me pick out the pictures and such being that we had a new girl who had barely been trained and it was her first day on the job. She did a pretty good job for having no clue what she was doing. But with Nic's help i managed to get some pretty darn good pictures. All the while Nic is running Dom all over the place trying to keep him entertained and prevent any more meltdowns being that his nap time is 2 hours overdue.

After pictures we had told Dom we would take him to Build a Bear. Which was Dom's first time and he loved it. However i think we picked the day with the slowest people working and of course this is just what we needed being that we have a toddler who is now 2.5 hours past his naptime. But Dom picked out his little elephant and we had it stuffed for him and he was happier than a clam. By the time we left the mall, Dom was passed out in Nic's arms. :) I would say for the most part the weekend was a huge success and I couldn't have done it without Nic. He was so patient with Dom and a great help to me. I don't think he realizes how much the little things help! We go to California next weekend so stay tuned for more pictures and fun stories!

JP and Justin Goin Away Bash

J.P. and Justin's Goin Away Party

HI Everybody,

This weekend we had to say goodbye to 2 of Nic's really good friends from Highschool Justin and JP. Justin and Nic are really good friends and Justin took a job in Chicago working for the Government. JP is in the Navy and has been in town over the last few weeks but left today and will be overseas for the next two years. Both Justin and JP are stand up guys and have done a lot of good things for Nic. They have all made lots of great memories together. Both of them have been very kind to me in the short time i have known them and they will be greatly missed.
We all met down at Habits and of course the boys played pool and took lots of shots :) While the girls chatted and hit the dance floor. It was a really good night and i think everyone had a great time. We all wanna to plan a trip to see Justin in Chicago some time next year so that should be a lot of fun. And we will be countin down the days til JP comes home :)
