Recovery from an amazing Christmas

Okay so i have sooo much to blog about today! First of all we had such an amazing Christmas i cannot even tell you how great it was. Christmas Eve Nic, Dom and I headed up to Nic's house to spend the night and day up at his house in Park City. Before that though we had a gift wrapping extravaganza and then headed up the mountain.

We had the best dinner. Brenda made this amazing prime rib, it was probably the best steak i have ever had in my life. It was such a great evening we had great food and great conversation. Nic's family is pretty incredible and i really do enjoy spending time with them. They made Dom and I feel so welcome and it meant a lot that they opened up their home to us for Christmas. So dinner was great then we got little Domi tucked into bed so that Santa could come! :) Dom made out like a bandit this year. He got a dog tent which is just perfect in size for him and then a sleeping bag and a camping chair to complete the whole ensemble. Not to mention a boat load of toys and clothes. Santa was good to Dom this year as I'm sure he will be every year. You should have seen him in the tent it was sooo cute. Lady even thought she would try it out. Every time Dom would go to bed she would get inside.

Anywho Christmas day was awesome too. Nic got me a new camera since mine has been giving me problems lately and we all know how much I LOVE to take pictures :) He also gave me various other fantastic gifts that i love! He spoiled me rotten he even gave me some really pretty jewelry from Mexico. I do have to add that Dave and Brenda got me (US) this awesome coffee pot that grinds and brews the coffee all in one. It is fabulous. For those of you that don't know i am a coffee fiend and it's amazing how grinding your own coffee can make a difference. So needless to say i am now in coffee lovers heaven.

Now let's talk about Nic's gifts, he got tons of cool camping stuff and one of them was a camp shower tent with a closet in it! Let's be honest that gift was really for me! Brenda is the best because she endured many years in the woods without those luxuries so I think she is trying to make my transition a little easier! ha ha ha! Anyway we are totally set to camp next year and i'm so excited to try out all the new stuff. He got a tent and camping chairs and all sorts of fun goodies.

It snowed so bad on Christmas and we weren't sure that Nic's family would be able to make it up for the day but mid afternoon everyone decided to brave it and headed up in the treacherous snow storm. IT was so much fun Jenn brought the kids up and we opened up the rest of the presents. Dom loves Jenn and her family so he had a blast hanging out with all of them. We ate some more great food and I'm pretty sure I've gained 10 lbs but it's the holidays right? All in all it was such a fun day and I'm so glad everyone else made it up to spend the day with us. I did miss my family a little but Nic's family is so great they made up for it. Dominik had a blast too! He really does love it up there and he loves to play with everyone.
The rest of the weekend did not disapoint either. Nic's friend Justin was in town so we all went out to spend time with him. It was really fun and it was good to see Justin. Saturday i had a Bachelorette party and Nic went to his friends Tina's for yet another Christmas party. Nic and I have had something goin on every weekend for the last 5 weeks. I've got to be honest i'm ready to RELAX! Little Dom left us Saturday morning to spend time with his dad and Grandma. I miss my little man when he goes and he will be gone for 5 days! :( We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and that the New Year brings nothing but Blessings and Happiness everyones way!

What a wonderful Christmas

Happy Holidays!

Okay so i'm such a slacker and never post anything so i thought i'd better update everyone! First of all we had such an amazing weekend! The only thing missing was my sweet little boy who was spending the weekend with his dad. He has a double ear infection and the poor kid's eardrum ruptured so i've been worried sick all weekend. But we got him some medicine and he is doing much better!
The Holidays are my favorite time of year! Friday night some friends of mine cooked Nic and I a delicious italian dinner! We just talked and had some wine and relaxed. Then Saturday operation Christmas shopping began! We got up at 830 and it was snowing so we decided it was time to put my snow tires on my car! Then it was off to Cabella's for some shopping madness! :) All in all it was a productive day and we managed to get some gifts!
Then it was off to the Arnold Family Christmas party! I made my 7 layer dip which is basically the only dish i can make! :) And Nic created his new signature dish of Lil Smokies and BBQ sauce. I do have to say that they were quite delicous! My man is a fabulous cook! The Christmas party was SOOO much fun. The food was delicious and the company of course was fantastic. I do have to say that Nic has a great family. Fortunately i've met most of them thru camping so there weren't too many new faces. The party was at his sister Jenn's and her house is B E A U tiful. We had a white elephant exchange and it was the funniest thing ever. The gifts this year were supposed to be something from our homes. Nic got Depends (adult diapers) and i got some panty hose! It was quite entertaining.
Believe it or not we actually got some pictures of Nic's mom. For those of you that know Brenda she absolutely despises pictures. But thanks to some coaxing from Nic we managed to get some great shots of the family. I may get disowned for some that i posted so if i'm forced to take some down it's not my fault :)
After that Christmas party we went to another Christmas party for Nic's friends. It was really fun too. They had Santa there for the kids. I was really sad that Dom wasn't there for these parties but i do have to share him! :( Then Sunday i wrapped some gifts and then it was off to the mall for some more shopping! We didnt' really get much yesterday so we have to brave the crowds one more time before Christmas.
Domi returned home at 5 and so we went up to Nic's house for dinner with his parents. His mom made steak, potato's and some amazing spinach recipe she learned on Rachel Ray! Dom just loves it up there! HE loves Dave and Brenda and of course Lady. He is infatuated with her tail. Dinner was soo yummy and then we all watched a movie and then Nic taught me how to play poker. He even left Domi help it was the cutest thing ever. This weekend was so much fun. I enjoyed spending time with friends and family. We are so blessed to have such great people in our lives and i can't wait for all the memories we will all get to share together. I hope all of you are enjoying this Holiday season!

Family Christmas Pictures

Family Christmas Photo Shoot

So thanks to Nic's sweet sister Jenn for taking our Christmas pictures for our cards. She did such an amazing job and it meant so much that she took time out of her day to help us out. We headed up to Nic's house and managed to get some great pics of us in the yard. We even had Lady in a few of them and chose one with her in it for the Christmas cards. Thanks to Walmart.com i had my cards ready in an hour. Jenn was a little jealous cuz it took her longer to get hers :) Of course Nic hated the picture we chose but he said he didn't care so he's learning to love them! ha ha. Anyway thanks again Jenn! You are the best! We love ya.

Thanksgiving weekend with the Family

Okay so it's been a long time since i've posted anything so i thought i'd better get my butt in gear. First of all Happy Holidays to everyone it's officially time to gain weight and spend lots of money :) We all had a great weekend. My dad and his wife Tina came to town and so we've been able to spend a lot of time with them. We also managed to squeeze in some Jeepin on Friday with Nic's family.

Wed night my Dad arrived and so we all went to dinner at Olive Garden. For many of us Olive Garden is not that big of a deal but for Tina it's her favorite place to eat and that's because they don't have an Olive Garden where they live. So the feasting actually began Wed night for us! I would also like to mention that Dominik went absolutely nuts when Grandpa arrived. He was SOOO excited to see them. He was shriekin all thru the house it was cute. Then Thursday we woke up and headed up to Nic's family's to eat dinner with them before we went and ate again at my Aunt's house.

It was nice to get to see Nic's family for Thanksgiving well at least some of them. Jenn and her family didn't head up until after we left. This is Nic and I's first time trying to balance all the families but we managed to make it work. So after a quick and fantastic dinner at the Arnold's we headed up to the Wysong's for some more grub. We had a good time and my Uncle Dave has a pool table so Nic and the guys played pool while the gal's had some female bonding. After dinner and visiting we headed back up to Park City because we had to get up early to go Jeepin the Ephraim with Nic's fam.

So Friday we got up at 530 AM to get ready to go. Let's just say it took a few cups of coffee for us all to kick it into to gear. Jeepin was awesome! It was the hardest trail i've been on with Nic and with the ice that was up there it made the trail a little harder to do. Needless to say Nic did suffer some jeep damage on this little adventure. He took the paint off one spot. bent his top and chipped his rim but it's all in the name of a good time! :) The most important thing was that we had a blast and we all made it out with no injuries well besides the jeeps. After jeepin we headed home and just rested. We were both running on very little sleep.

Saturday was another day of adventures. Grandma and Grandpa came back to the house so we could do some Christmas shopping for Dom. Let's just say Nic has officially won his shopping badge for enduring hours of shopping! For those of you that don't know Nic, shopping is not his favorite thing to do. But he was such a trooper and that is why i love him so!!!! Dom got spoiled rotten we got a little art center, a tool bench oh and of course Grandma had to get him a nerf gun with darts. I'm not sure who got more fun out of it though, Nic seemed to enjoy it as well. I'm not going to be able to go home for Christmas this year so we decided to let Dom open his gifts so Grandma and Grandpa could see him do it. Needless to say he loved everything and it was fun to see him get so excited.

Then Tina and I got a wild hair up our butts and decided to go buy a Christmas tree at Big Lots and 9 at night. It was so sweet Tina bought me a tree all the decorations and a couple other things. So the Wysong household is now ready for the Holidays. There are even a few presents under the tree. All in all it's been a great weekend and it was so good to see my family! I also want to add that Nic has received the Wysong stamp of approval. He fits right in with my family which i knew he would. My dad left this morning which always makes me sad but we are planning a trip out there in a few months. So there is a summary of this weekends activities. This month is gonna be crazy but i'll try to keep more posts coming. We hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving

Thriller

So I added the song Thriller to our blog just for Nic. I'm taking him to a Dance Production called Thriller that i go to every year. I'm not sure he is "Thrilled" about it but he is certainly being the great boyfriend that he is and goin with me.
You should have seen him this morning he was dancing all over the kitchen i was laughing my butt off!!! Stay tuned for pics and an update of this weekends festivities.
He woke up this morning to some surprises and he will be getting them throughout the day! I'm having so much fun doing cute things for him for our six months. I realize it's not that big of a milestone, I just think I like exuses to do cute things for him and spoil him for all the great things he does for Dom and I. Anyway hope everyone has a great weekend and stay tuned......

The Best 6 months I've had in a Long time!

So tomorrow will be 6 months since Nic and I first hung out and we have been inseperable ever since. I cannot believe how fast the time has gone by. We spend almost every day together and to be honest i never get sick of him. He is my bestfriend and always knows how to make me laugh and is there when i need him. The past six months have been some of the happiest times in my life and i cherish every second we have spent together. Nic has been such a blessing to Dom and I and i'm so grateful he came into our lives. From the moment we met i knew he would be someone special in my life and i wasn't wrong.
He has done so many great things for my son and I and words cannot express how much that means to me. For instance, lastnight I had Bunco with some girlfriends, Nic spent the night with Dom and took him all around Sportmans Wherehouse and bought him a camo hat. So he could match Nic. By the way Dom looks up to Nic so much the only way to get him to wear certain things is to tell him that Nic has it! :) I don't think Nic can even begin to understand what a simple act like that means to me. Dominik is my everything and the fact that the man in my life treats him so well and like his own son brings tears to my eyes. As a single mom you sometimes wonder if you will ever find a man who will love you and your child as a package deal and I found that in Nic. Sorry to babble on but i'm kind of a cheese ball like that! Anyhow now that i'm crying at my desk at work. I just want to say that these last six months have been amazing and I look forward to seeing what the future has in store for the 3 of us. Nic if you read this Thanks for an incredible six months! I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!

Hunting Weekend

Hello Everyone,

It's been a while since i've written anything so i decided i better write and update everybody! Nic went hunting with his family this weekend well minus the girls! :) And it was the longest we've really been apart since we met and i'm not gonna lie it was super hard for me. I missed him SOOOO much. I didn't have Dominik either so both my boys were gone. So of course i tried to make the best of it and thought i could get in some girl time or something. Well i ended up getting sick all day Saturday and ended up being in bed all day :( So Saturday was a complete wash.

But Sunday i felt better and went up to Nic's house and spent the day with his mom and sisters. We had so much fun. We got out old pics of Nic and the family and it was neat to go thru them and see them all when they were young. Nic especially had some pretty cute pics! :) Dom and Kallie were there and they had a tea party. I took a few pics to show Dom's girlfriends when he is 30 and I allow him to date! JUST KIDDING.

It was a very nice and relaxing day and i really enjoyed spending time with Nic's fam. They are a fun group of gals and very easy to get along with. I know it sounds cheesy but it helped me miss Nic less because i was with his family! Then to my surprise Nic and the guys decided to come home early. So i headed home so i could get some dinner ready for him when he arrived. He showed up a muddy mess but i didn't care, it was just so good to see him. This weekend made me realize that he really is my best friend and the one i want to spend all my time with. I hate to say it but i think i'll be hunting next year cuz i definately don't want to go that long without him again :) So hooray both my boys are home and i couldn't be happier! Nic had a really great time with everybody and was sad to leave. He did not catch anything but i'm sure one day he'll bring home a huge head to mount on the wall!!!!

Today Nic sent me the prettiest flowers with a singing monkey and balloon! The best part was he sent them for no reason at all! He bascially made my entire week and i feel like the luckiest girl in the world. That is just one of the many sweet things Nic does for me and I"m blessed to have him in Dom and I's life! I love you honey and thanks again! :)

Hello Everyone,

It's been a while since i've written but as you can see by the pictures we have been busy doing lots of fun things. The first slideshow was of Moab and that trip was very interesting. It was a great time but the weather wasn't so fabulous and Nic and I both ended up with injuries. Nic hurt his ribs playing volleyball and I hurt by tail bone goin down the river. 3 weeks later we are still in pain but it was all worth it! :) From flash floods to severe wind it's safe to say that i won my wilderness badge on that trip. All in all Moab was a lot of fun but it was sure nice to get home and take a shower.
Last weekend we stayed up in Park City with Dom and he got to have smores for the first time. He thought that was pretty neat but what he really enjoyed was helping Nic drive the tractor. He also liked jumping on the tramp he wasn't sure quite what to think when Nic or I got on there and jumped with him but we worked through it. It was a great weekend and we all had a good time. It's sure fun to watch Dom experience new things. It makes you appreciate all the things we adults take for granted.
This past weekend we didn't have Dom but Nic and I were busy celebrating birthday's. Friday we went to Lumpy's with Eddie and Kami our friends to celebrate Eddie's birthday. It was really fun we just had some drinks and the boys played pool while the girls danced. Then Saturday Nic and I went to my friend Rachel's for a BBQ, Nic got to show my friends what a master griller he is by debuting his famous Blue Cheese Hamburgers. They were a hit and it was nice to introduce Nic to more of my friends.
Next weekend we are going to take Domink to the Circus so look for pics next weekend. Hope everyone is doing great!!!

We just got back from California and we had a blast. We left on Friday and Nic got to experience his first flight with a two year old. Nic did great but Mom was a little stressed out! :) The airlines have changed a bit since i last flew so i was shocked to see that they now charge for extra bags and also charge for skycap. So it was a little stressful at the beginning but Dom was great on the flight and him and I rocked out to my Ipod.
When we landed we went to my dad's and then left from there to go Wine Tasting with my sister Lindsey and her boyfriend Ray. Our first stop was Tobin James Winery and that is where we bought the most wine. The guy who was serving us our wine was quite the chatter box, we weren't sure if he was getting paid to talk or to pour our wine. Regardless we got some great wine and then headed to the Cass Winery. This was my least favorite of the Wineries but we bought one great bottle of dessert wine and also got some great pictures in their Special Wine Tasting room. Our last stop was called Sculptera Winery and they had some amazing bronze statues. The guy who poured was the son of the owner and took great care of us and even let us go look at where they stored their wine. He told us each barrel sits for a year or more before they distribute it. Wine tasting was a huge success and after that we headed back to my dad's and waited for them to get home from taking Dom to a car show. Once my dad got home we visited for a bit and then Nic and I headed to bed to get some rest for the big Birthday/Graduation bash.
The next day Nic and I cooked breakfast for the Fam and then we all helped get everything ready for the party. Nic and I volunteered to be the Bartenders for the night and we had a great time. At first i was really nervous because i had no idea what i was doing but by the end of the night Nic and I had a pretty good system going. Bartending was also a great way for Nic to meet everyone. Nic and I decided that we deserved tips so we got out a tip jar and ended up making almost $50.00. We were pretty stoked. Nic was a hit and all i heard all night was how cute he was and how nice and "wow what a nice body" :) I expected nothing different since i love and adore the guy.
Dominik was quite the hit also, it must be all the nights of watchin So You think You Can Dance because Dominik was busting out moves i had never seen on the dance floor. It was the cutest thing ever. He was doing flips and spinning all over the place it was great. Everybody loved it. Sunday came and Nic and I had to decide how we were going to smuggle 11 bottles of wine home. Nic had the brilliant idea to borrow and extra suitcase so we ended up wrapping all the bottles in some clothes and got all the wine home safe and sound. We were pretty darn thrilled with ourselves. Our trip to California was awesome and it was nice to introduce Nic to my family and to show him where i came from. Stay tuned because we are Water Rafting in Moab next weekend. Nic leaves Monday night and I will meet up with him on Thursday.

August 08

Weekend of 8/10

This weekend was lots of fun! Saturday Nic, Dom and I all went hiking with Nic's friend Kim. It was up Little Cottonwood and it was beautiful. Of course Nic had Dom in tow on the backpack and Dominik loved every second of it. By the end of the hike Dom had passed out and it was so cute. We were all wore out and so we went home and took a nap!

Later that night Nic and I went to dinner to celebrate my friend Cheyenne's birthday. We ate at a restaurant called Stella which was pretty good but then had to head home because Dom's hand was swollen from a bug bite and Dom's Grandma was concerned. SO we went home and of course the Dominator was fine but we decided to just stay in for the night.
Sunday was when the real fun began. I have been putting off Dominik's 2 year pictures for quite some time now. But realized that he is amost 2 1/2 and it's time to suck it up and get the photo's taken. You see i hate getting his picture taken, to me it is the most stressful thing you can do to a child and to a parent. First I worry about his outfit and if his hair looks right. Then i wonder if he going to be in a good mood. I decided that Nic should join in the fun and escort me to photo day! :) Of course i picked Kiddie Kandids in the mall (Nic hates the mall) And of course they don't have an opening right when we got there. Not to mention Dom's nap time is at 12 and we got to the mall at 1230. The soonest they could get us in is 1:30 but we decide to chance it and take the appointment. Is everybody getting the point? We are about to have a very cranky Domi on our hands.

So while we are waiting Nic and I take Dom all around the mall to keep him occupied. He does really well and in fact he does well even during the pictures. However, for those of you that have had toddlers it's not easy to tell a toddler what to do, not to mention trying to get them to sit still long enough to take a picture. All in all he does pretty good with a few minor melt downs along the way. Then comes time to pick out the pictures...Poor Nic did not realize this was going to be a 2 hour event. But he continues to be patient and help the entire time. He even helped me pick out the pictures and such being that we had a new girl who had barely been trained and it was her first day on the job. She did a pretty good job for having no clue what she was doing. But with Nic's help i managed to get some pretty darn good pictures. All the while Nic is running Dom all over the place trying to keep him entertained and prevent any more meltdowns being that his nap time is 2 hours overdue.

After pictures we had told Dom we would take him to Build a Bear. Which was Dom's first time and he loved it. However i think we picked the day with the slowest people working and of course this is just what we needed being that we have a toddler who is now 2.5 hours past his naptime. But Dom picked out his little elephant and we had it stuffed for him and he was happier than a clam. By the time we left the mall, Dom was passed out in Nic's arms. :) I would say for the most part the weekend was a huge success and I couldn't have done it without Nic. He was so patient with Dom and a great help to me. I don't think he realizes how much the little things help! We go to California next weekend so stay tuned for more pictures and fun stories!

JP and Justin Goin Away Bash

J.P. and Justin's Goin Away Party

HI Everybody,

This weekend we had to say goodbye to 2 of Nic's really good friends from Highschool Justin and JP. Justin and Nic are really good friends and Justin took a job in Chicago working for the Government. JP is in the Navy and has been in town over the last few weeks but left today and will be overseas for the next two years. Both Justin and JP are stand up guys and have done a lot of good things for Nic. They have all made lots of great memories together. Both of them have been very kind to me in the short time i have known them and they will be greatly missed.
We all met down at Habits and of course the boys played pool and took lots of shots :) While the girls chatted and hit the dance floor. It was a really good night and i think everyone had a great time. We all wanna to plan a trip to see Justin in Chicago some time next year so that should be a lot of fun. And we will be countin down the days til JP comes home :)

Summer 08

Summer 2008

So instead of using myspace and facebook to let friends and family know how we are doing. I decided to create a blog to share with everyone all the fun things Dom Nic and I are doing together.
First of all a little background on Nic and I for those of you that don't know. Nic and I work out at Gold's Gym and had seen each other there for a couple of months. We had said hi a few times but never really talked. But then one day in April he was on the stair machine next to me and we started talking. I thought he was pretty awesome and of course he thought i was the coolest chick ever! ha ha kidding! :-) We became friends and then started hanging out shortly after and the rest is history!
Nic has been such a blessing to Dominik and I and I am so grateful he came into our lives! He really is my best friend and i know he is someone i can always count on! We love to laugh and enjoy doing pretty much anything! Nic has actually gotten me to go camping 3 times this summer and for those of you that know me that sounds insane but to be honest I've had a blast! The first time we went up with his family for Memorial Day and it was muddy and snowy the entire time but thanks to Nic and all his fine camping gear i was able to stay warm and actually really enjoyed myself. Nic and his Dad have really awesome Jeeps that can pretty much do anything and it is a blast goin wheelin' in them. Nic even let me drive his Jeep which made me feel pretty darn special!
This summer has been awesome and we've taken Dom to do some really great things. Dominik is 2 now and is getting to be more fun every day! Don't get me wrong he has his moments but at the end of the day he is My Little Prince that i love and adore! :)
Some of Dom's favorite things to do are to go fishing and hiking. We got him a hiking bag pack and he loves it. Nic straps him on and he can look all around, it's really fun! We also got Dom a Shrek pole and when he isn't hitting himself with it he loves to cast it into the water. I'm sad to report that we haven't caught a fish with Dom yet but it will happen soon.
We just got back from taking Dom on his first camping trip. We went to one of Nic's friends cabins' in Kamas and it was a blast. Dominik really enjoyed himself. He got to sleep in a tent for the first time and he thought that was pretty neat. You should have seen his face when he saw the camp fire, he was mesmorized! There were lots of activities for the kids, they had a parade and lots of other fun things. Dom's favorite thing though was throwing rocks into the water. I swear he could have done it for hours.
Nic and I got our butts kicked in the horse shoe tournament but at least we looked good doing it! ha ha. It rained for a little bit so the 3 of us sat in the tent and watched the lightning. Dom thought that was pretty cool too. By Sunday Dom was getting a littly cranky so we left that morning. He is at that stage where he can go from total stinker to an angel in 5 seconds flat. Sometimes we call him "Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" But for the most part he is a very well natured child, which is helpful for me :) Nic does awesome with Dom and the two of them are good buddies!
The three of us are having a blast and I will continue to keep everyone posted as we do more things. Stay tuned because we are going to California in August and Rafting in Moab!! Nic is meeting my father for the first time and the movie Meet the Parents comes to mind! ha ha ha! Love ya Dad. :) Hope this finds everyone happy and healthy!

Love Dom, Tiff and Nic
